CAMINO DE SANTIAGO PACKING LIST

In October of 2023 I have set out to walk one of the more challenging Camino de Santiago - Del Norte in norther Spain. I have done extensive research for the things I should bring with me and have come up with a list of items.
After the walk, I was reflecting on the items decided to share them with the readers in this blog. I hope you will find these helpful as well.
Your backpack is the most important equipment you will carry with you for 30-45 days. Osprey backpack is versatile with numerous pockets and compartments.
This foot massager ball came in handy after some very long days of walking. It doesn't take up much room and is light-weight.
Pair of Columbia pants worked out really well in the rain and cooler temps kicked in. I found that they are very fashion forward in addition to their primary function
SOLOMON HIKING SHOES
Just as important as your back pack is, the next thing to invest in is your shoes! They will carry you 800km after all. Invest in your comfort.
MICROFIBER QUICK DRYING TOWEL
If there's one thing you cannot leave the house, make it this microfiber quick drying towel! Hostels do not provide towels, especially albergues.
MERINO WOOL WOMEN'S T-SHIRT
Merino wool has long been know excellent at wicking moisture. Light, comfortable and quick drying.
INJINJI TOE SOCKS
Moisture wicking toe socks. What this does is it separates your toes, thus preventing them from chafing and preventing toe blisters.
SAFARI SUN HAT
No walk is ever achieved (or is it?) without the sun hat. Sun in Spain in October is still strong. I strongly recommend a bright color like yellow or orange. Make yourself visible.
LOOP QUIET EAR PLUGS
If nothing else - these ear plugs are a must! That is if you want to get any kind of quality sleep in an Albergue with 30 other people.
HEAD BANDANAS
This head bandana is helpful in hot weather. This can assist with sweat and act as a cover for the forehead, in case you forgot your sunscreen.
SHOWER HOOKS
When it comes to this item, it may not be the absolute must but a ice to have creature comfort. Shower S-hooks are handy not just for the shower but things as simple as hanging your backpack on the side of the hostel bed.
SILICONE TOE PROTECTORS
These silicone toe protectors are very handy. Walks are long, your feet will hurt and you will get blisters. Just a reality of walking. Protect your feet so you can continue walking
